Round 8 Ready to Roll

Round 8 will begin on Thursday 2nd of August at 20:00 BST. We hope this round will be one of the best yet. We have a new trading system, allowing you to outsmart other players by sound economic management, not just war! With this we have created a position of minister of economics which is chosen by the elected power base nation.
We have also made lots of changes to the way the game operates, even the server that runs the game is totally different! This means there is now a more accessible address for the wiki, which can now be found at http://wiki.worldsofwar.co.uk. Along with this we have new forums especially for the game which are at http://forums.worldsofwar.co.uk at the moment they do look a bit out of character, however we will be working on this. With this the old forums have now been separated from the game so please don't post any more game related items on http://www.fhforums.co.uk. Along with all the updates the new FH Shop is online at http://www.fhshop.co.uk, please remember that this funds the game, so do try and use it if you can!
Another new feature we have for this round is a Facebook application. This keeps your friends informed if your being attacked and how high up you are in the rankings, should you wish to use this you must have already registered for Worlds of War first, then head over to Facebook and add the application (if you are not already logged in you will need to). We have also given a facelift to the IRC network, now back up and running properly. We have a new services bot and much improved stats system, take a look at http://www.worldsofwar.net/stats for the new recorded stats from the network. So if you have never tried IRC come and take a look at irc.worldsofwar.net port 6667.
Looking to the future, we are planning to a vast number of changes, including the adding of continent rankings and more continent diplomacy. The manual for the game is coming back, as yet its incomplete (but its getting there). If you would like to make any contributions, the wiki is still open (and will stay open) and the new manual is based on the current wiki. We are also planning to make a proper website to support the IRC network which is free for anyone to use (as long as its legal). This is on top of the new design for the forums we are currently working on. At present though there are still some small bugs in parts of the game, these will be resolved first (this includes the somewhat hit and miss spelling), while we are uploading changes the website may appear offline, we will do our best to ensure this happens at times when very few will notice. Please let us know if you find any new bugs, remember your breaking the rules if you dont!
