Round 8 of Worlds of War is now over, congratulations to copperhead who came first.
Signups for next round will be starting at sometime tomorrow (Sunday) evening, with the new round will come a few fixes and a change to the way the combat engine works. Firstly the graphing will now work properly, so you will actually be able to see all three graphs. However I need to explain that the forces graph is NOT the number of units you have, it is a calculated weighting of the units you have crossed with their strength to give you a good representation of your military strength over time (as its often better to have a fair number of good units than a lot of naff ones). Along with this the graphs now have a simple permissions system attached to them you can now make them public so you can show anyone them (you will see a url for the graph when you make them public). As long as you use the link given these public graphs will update as your stats change so you can embed them in any other website you like. Along with this there is an option for an automatic push to facebook so they can be shown on your facebook profile. Please do be aware though that as usual there has been very limited time for any testing, there could be problems!
Please remember that if you use the facebook application you MUST remove it and reinstall it after you singup otherwise it will not work.
The other major change is that turrets no longer fire first, they fire in turn with every other unit so they now lose the massive advantage they have had on the battlefield for sometime. I hope this makes the game a lot fairer and a little more realistic for everyone.
Over the next few weeks we are thinking of extending the mailing list, when you register you have an option of selecting for receiving promotional emails, at the moment these are sent out only when we get to see a very worthwhile offer that would benefit us and the players. However, we are thinking of extending this to a weekly news letter and we would appreciate any thoughts on the forums (http://forums.worldsofwar.co.uk), we will post a thread for it soon.
Later on tonight the tick engine will be started again, with either 2, 4 or 5 ticks an hour (who knows its a surprise), just a little bit of fun before the new round kicks in. As usual we will email you when we are open for signups to the new round, as yet no date for the round start has been set, we are still deliberating over that one.
Hope to see you next round
